tldr; Take your addons to go and stop PaaS lock-in. Us dev folks either operationalize infrastructure services or find a partner to provide them. In one extreme, we host our own services on our own hardware. In the other extreme, we use a fully hosted solution from third-party providers--we call these "Addons." Our young and fast-evolving industry let vendors drive the first wave of addons. For example, the exception handler Airbrake was the first third-party service to exist in the early Heroku PaaS. Heroku allowed other vendors to distribute services within their marketplace and that's how things have stayed for a decade. Unfortunately, the decisions that built the vendor service catalog on Heroku, also made it harder for users to move their workloads. For example, if you have adopted a third-party service on Heroku, it is harder to migrate. If you were to move your workload to Render, Fly, Vercel or even directly to AWS, you would find that your addons remain trapped in Heroku. Addons.io provides a better way. Your addons become yours, regardless of where you choose to deploy. This has a myriad of benefits for you, the third-party service provider and eventually the ecosystem that Heroku benefits from.

We partner with Stripe for simplified billing and payment processing. It's the same payment provider used by products such as Twitter, Pinterest, and Lyft. We do not handle your credit card information directly.

Your team email will be notified after each failed payment. Payments may be retried up to 4 times within the next month. After this, if the payment did not succeed, access to your Addons.io resources will be disabled until payment succeeds.

We're not interested in having someone's money if they aren't happy. So if at any point you want to cancel your Addons.io account, you can do so right from your billing portal - you don't even have to call or email us (unless you have a question). After you cancel, you'll still have access to all the paid features until the end of your billing cycle.
